What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Painter position at ServiceMaster Restore?
Under general supervision, perform the application/preparation of paints, enamels, acrylics, stains, and lacquers to finish and protect interior and exterior surfaces, buildings, and other structures using hand brushing and power-driven painting equipment. This will be for commercial and residential work following the Texas Winter Storm.
- Have general knowledge and the ability to apply various types of paints to interior and exterior structures using approved industry standards. Including paints, primers, stains, acrylics, lacquers and epoxies and other approved coatings, by hand or using spray equipment
- Have the general knowledge and the ability to construct and use scaffolding, extension ladders, and hydraulic lift buckets for exterior painting
- Requests of multi-level facilities
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures and structures by sanding, filling holes, cracks and joints with caulking or approved materials
- Have general knowledge and ability to use power equipment related to the painting trade i.e., airless spray equipment, power sanders, texture machines and line laser stripping machines
- Have general knowledge and the ability to tape, bed and texturing of sheetrock/dry wall materials
- Have general knowledge to install vinyl wall coverings and other approved wall fabrics
- Have the general knowledge and ability to prepare paint to match specified colors by mixing with color tints, using approved equipment or by hand
- Clean and maintain painting equipment after each use; including brushes, rollers and power equipment
- Maintain accurate records for labor, materials and hours worked, for work order completion on assigned work
- Follow district safety guidelines, using good safety practices for operating hand and power tools and equipment as needed for job completion
- Wear safety equipment as assigned, at all times
- Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff and other auxiliary services personnel, contractors, and vendors in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair and complete each project
- Employee may be required to respond to after hour/emergency call outs, be placed on an emergency call out rotation and flex work hours to accommodate job completion
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned, including lawn care, custodial and general maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Accredited High School diploma or USA equivalency
- Minimum Three (3) years of experience in painting application and preparation
- Demonstrates ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision
- Demonstrates general knowledge of various types of interior and exterior paints, solvents, primers, stains, acrylics, lacquers, epoxies and other industry coatings
- Demonstrates general knowledge and ability to use paint spray equipment, power equipment or hand application of said paints and coatings
- Ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

Salary : $41,500 - $52,500
