Title: Warehouse Associate / Facilities Maintenance

FLSA Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Norwalk, CT

Hourly Range: $16.00 to $22.00, Hourly Rate (Depends on Experience)

DESCRIPTION

ServPro of Stamford, serving the Fairfield County (Norwalk, CT) area is seeking an individual to fill the role of Warehouse Assistant. In this role, you will assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining the daily organization of the SERVPRO® Warehouse, equipment inventory is properly stored, processed, tracked, and assist in minor equipment repairs, receiving orders, and provide general building maintenance.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet in a non-temperature controlled environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Candidate needs to be computer literate and detail oriented. The candidate will be asked to drive a variety of motor vehicles including vans, cars, trucks and forklifts. A valid driver’s license is mandatory. The candidate must be available of overtime and weekend shifts when deemed necessary by management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse

  • Preparing vehicles for morning crews
  • Enterprise Fleet Management, warranty, and maintenance
  • Assist in gathering, distribution and tracking of consumables and equipment needed for daily jobs.
  • Maintaining job work board, physical and virtual with equipment count and identification numbers.
  • Working closely with warehouse manager with assistance in unloading supplies, loading/unloading of crates, maintenance and cleaning of equipment, arrangements and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Development of knowledge of SERVPRO cleaning products and chemicals
  • Assist with ordering of consumables under guidance of warehouse manager.
  • Occasional pick up and/or delivery of supplies to technicians to onsite jobs
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and organized warehouse and warehouse tools.
  • Management of laundry in SERVPRO machines
  • Organization of equipment in cage area.
  • Ordering and tracking of external dumpster with carting company.
  • Weekly review and report of SERVPRO fleet, all vans, trucks and cars

Facilities Maintenance

  • Responsible of removal of garbage from offices and common areas
  • Responsible for vacuum of offices and common areas
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining supplies in all restrooms
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of common kitchen area
  • External maintenance of building grounds as per warehouse manager i.e. mowing of lawn, snow removal, window cleaning, collection of trash left in parking lot, collection of recyclables.
  • Set up/strike for monthly morning meetings and scheduled training day modules in conference room
  • Watering of office plants

Other

  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned and requested by warehouse manager or management.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS/COMPETENCIES AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • 2 years of warehouse manager assistant experience; required
  • Understanding of warehouse management procedures and inventory control; required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the warehouse manager, crew, project managers, contractors, and office personnel; required
  • Previous cleaning, fire & water damage restoration or construction industry experience; preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, and climb ladders; require
  • Small equipment maintenance; preferred
  • Handyman experience, required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant Franchise Specific Software, a plus; preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma/GED; required
  • Forklift Operator Certification; preferred
  • OSHA 10 or 40 Certification; preferred

Schedule:

  • 7:45am to 4:45pm, 40 Weekly Shift / Monday to Friday
  • Flexible to work occasionally after 6pm and weekends for overtime hours when required (during storm events)

Overtime Requirement:

We are a 24/7 Emergency Services business. You will occasionally be expected to work nights and weekends to assist our customers in their time of need during storms, cold weather, and other natural or man-made emergency situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment: This position will be in-office warehouse environment; not eligible for hybrid or remote.

Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office warehouse environment and requires the ability to operate ServPro equipment. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds may be required.
