What you get to do:


As an Aquatics Supervisor at Sesame Place, you’ll deliver peace of mind by helping to train the life guards that ensure memorable and positive experiences for our guests. You will:

  • Coordinate and implement all aspects of American Red Cross training and certification for Aquatics, Security, Rides Leadership, and Full Time Team Members
  • Coordinate and implement all aspects of Aquatics training and certification including American Red Cross trainings, job specific trainings, department orientations, and in-service trainings
  • Work with the Aquatics Manager to monitor department hiring to ensure adequate staffing levels are met
  • Work with the Aquatics Manager to monitor and manage the labor budget for aquatics trainings.
  • Supervise and develop part-time Aquatics Trainers
  • Maintain team member files, training paperwork and systems
  • Ensure all aquatics team members receive required skills audits
  • Partner with the scheduling team to create the Aquatics schedule
  • Assist the Aquatics Manager with American Red Cross audits and SEA Audits
  • Responsible for the training and development of approximately 300 team members



What it takes to succeed:


  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be a certified Lifeguard Instructor with at least 2 years of lifeguard training experience.
  • Must have a minimum 2 years lifeguarding/shallow water guarding experience in a park setting.
  • Should possess excellent planning, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Must be able to obtain ARC Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certification
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with high aptitude for computer software systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds are a plus
  • A passion for customer service
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests’ needs
  • Flexibility to perform varied duties


What else is important:


  • Be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
  • perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals and using the proper PPE
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
