The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with community agencies and providing a safe environment for clients. CS Coordinator will help identify and access needed resources and/or other recovery supports for clients. CS Coordinator will provide operational oversight of the CS program.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or two (2) years’ experience in managing operations within the Behavioral Health field
  • Ability to:
    • Pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
    • Qualify for SFA’s commercial automobile insurance
    • Provide proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage
  • A current valid driver’s license
  • A safe, reliable vehicle

Preferred:

  • Six (6) months of experience working in a residential treatment setting
  • Current Chemical Dependency Counselor I or equivalent and working towards acquiring a Chemical Dependency Counselor II (CDC II, NCAC 1 or QAP equivalent certification) within two (2) years from hire


Skills required:

  • Good written, verbal and organizational skills
  • Punctuality and consistency in reporting to work, and in delivery of direct services
  • Understanding of being trauma informed and awareness of cultural differences
  • The ability to:
    • Lead a team of professional staff
    • Represent the mission and values of Set Free Alaska to the staff and community
    • Make leadership decisions within the scope of responsibilities as set forth in Set Free Alaska’s policies and procedures
    • Build rapport with clients and staff while maintaining professional boundaries
    • Maintain confidentiality and treat everyone with dignity and respect
    • Manage situations that can cause distress and work to ensure the safety and well-being of themselves and other staff
  • Proficient computer skills and fluid use of electronic communication tools


Job responsibilities:

  • Provide Crisis and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) assessments
  • Coordinate:
    • Intakes and discharges
    • Scheduling of staff to ensure all shifts are filled as required
    • Procurement and grant reporting
  • Hire, evaluate and supervise staff including, but not limited to: staff scheduling, performance monitoring, assistance in developing growth goals, training…
  • Oversight of the day-to-day programming of the Crisis Stabilization program including:
    • Supporting clients by assisting and supervising wake-up, bedtime, personal care routines, completion of chores and laundry, meals, recreational activities
    • Observing and reporting of any facility needs or concerns to the appropriate Manager or Director
  • CS Coordinator will provide emotional and social support to peers and model healthy supportive relationships that encourage sobriety and living a life in recovery
  • Work with peers to connect clients to resources in the community
