What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytics Engineer position at Settle?
About the role:
As an early member of the team, you’ll get to be a part of shaping and building our data analytics organization. You will own the analytics data architecture, be a leader in data modeling, and optimize the ingestion and transformation of our data. You will contribute to making our data platform best-in-class.
What you’ll do:
- Own and maintain integrations between our tools to ensure seamless workflow between Postgres, Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Salesforce, Metabase, and Tableau
- Evaluate, trial, and implement new tooling to address data management, governance, discoverability, and analytics needs
- Work closely with infrastructure, compliance, and IT to keep our data secure and compliant to relevant regulations and certifications
- Develop tools, process, and education to improve data discoverability and self-service throughout the organization
- Be responsible for the dbt and snowflake infrastructure and maintenance
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using dbt and Github
- Develop datasets in close partnership with business stakeholders to inform strategic priorities, streamline operations, and discover insights.
- Build data pipelines to help our customer success, operations, risk, finance and product teams be data driven while embracing data engineering best practices
- Develop data quality monitoring solutions to ensure data quality standards and accuracy of metrics
- Define and implement engineering standard processes including code reviews, documentation, testing frameworks, and alerting to establish trust in our data
What you’ll need:
- 3 years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering role with a Master’s degree in a technical field (eg. Computer Science, Engineering) OR Bachelor's in a technical field with 5 years of experience in Analytics/Data Engineering
- Expert in SQL and relational database design and data
- Significant experience with Python
- Experience using Fivetran, Snowflake, Airflow and dbt
- Ability to explain complicated technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Eager to learn new skills, tools and subjects
- Experience leading data engineering projects
Compensation:
This role has an annual starting salary range of $130,000 - $170,000 equity benefits.
Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills, prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role).
