POSITION TITLE: INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF NURSING
CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME – FACULTY - SALARIED
REPORTS TO: CHIEF NURSE ADMINISTRATOR (CNA)
COLLEGE: COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT: NURSING
POSITION SUMMARY:
POSITION IS FULL-TIME, REQUIRING A TEACHING LOAD OF 27 HOURS PER ACADEMIC YEAR. IN ADDITION TO HIS/HER TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES, THE PROFESSOR WILL SERVE ON COMMITTEES AS ASSIGNED AND FULFILL ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AS ASSIGNED BY THE CNA.

ATTENDANCE AT REQUIRED UNIVERSITY FUNCTIONS
CHAPEL ATTENDANCE AS ABLE, RELATED TO TEACHING SCHEDULE
STUDENT ADVISING AFTER FIRST YEAR OF TEACHING
PREFERRED/ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
MASTER’S DEGREE IN NURSING REQUIRED
DOCTORATE IN NURSING OR RELATED FIELD PREFERRED
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE AREA OF PSYCHIATRIC, MENTAL HEALTH NURSING
SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE OF AT LEAST THREE (3) YEARS IN THE FIELD OF MENTAL HEALTH NURSING
REQUIRED
SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE OF AT LEAST TWO (2) YEARS IN NURSING EDUCATION PREFERRED
RANK COMMENSURATE WITH LEVEL OF NURSING EDUCATION EXPERIENCE. ABILITY TO TEACH ACROSS THE CURRICULUM.
PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO TEACH IN A CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY AND BE IN AGREEMENT WITH THE MISSION OF
