Business Analyst (SPEED)

Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Working 100% remotely with a team of software engineers, test automation engineers, designers, and product owners to bring our teams' conceptual solutions to life in a mature Agile/DevSecOps environment, the Business Analyst will focus supporting the SPEED team's enterprise web development initiatives:

• Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps
• Analyzing and documenting the clients business needs into user stories, grooming the user stories, collaborating with the architect, developers, and testers regarding the business need and groomed stories, and providing training for the implementation.
• Collaborates with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team.
• Facilitate increment and planning sessions with clients and team members in order to ensure that planned work is well defined, planned, articulated, and understood.
• Instruct, guide, and mentor team members in the usage of Jira for the purposes of planning and tracking of their work in the scrum or kanban Agile methodology.
• Provide guidance and assistance in the usage of Jira for reporting of work progress against epics and other larger bodies of work or types of work.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience as a business analyst 
• Associates degree in business or related field; or technical degree or diploma in related industry, or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 year of experience in planning, decomposition, and execution of work using Agile methodologies.
• Demonstrate sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
• Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Experience as a business analyst working with web content management application using custom modules
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders to create defined requirements for development
• Experience functioning as a business analyst for the federal governement.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or technical degree or diploma in related industry, or equivalent work experience
• DHS/USCIS experience preferred

Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and have or are able to attain a Government Agency Suitability Clearance.
