Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Development, the Grant and Contract Specialist is responsible for increasing philanthropic corporate, foundation, and contract support for Seven Hills Foundation & Affiliates. This position is responsible for the process of preparing grant and contract proposals to foundations, corporations, state and federal agencies, and other private entities. This position will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Development and various Project Teams to gather data, prepare proposal submissions, and report to funders. The Grants and Contract Specialist is part of a dynamic Advancement team and supports the mission of Seven Hills Foundation by participating in other department events and activities as needed.  The Grants & Contract Specialist plays a major role in the advancement of the mission of Seven Hills through cultivating and coordinating the efforts of staff, donors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

The Grant and Contract Specialist works as a member of the Advancement Team to support annual fund development work plans including but not limited to:

 

  • Develop and manage an annual grant calendar, including key deliverables and reporting deadlines in alignment with affiliate fund development plans.
  • Identify new grant opportunities, including state and federal funding.
  • Write and submit high-quality letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports to current and prospective grant funding sources.
  • Work in close coordination with the VP of Advancement, AVP of Development, Affiliate VPs, and the Business Office to create, update, and monitor annual fund development plans.
  • Work with the Development Associate to draft grant award acknowledgments and publicity materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders to promote Seven Hills and communicate the impact of awards on funded programs.
  • Update donor database (DonorPerfect), in collaboration with Development Associate, ensuring grant and contract data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Participate in all Advancement related events is required.
  • Provide strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Grant and Contract Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Communications, English, Business, or a related field with a minimum of three to five years of experience in nonprofit grant and contract proposal writing.
  • Possess strong research, writing, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop tables and graphs, and other applications as required.
  • Familiarity with DonorPerfect and Grant Hub or similar fundraising and grants management software is preferred.
