We are seeking a talented Commercialization Manager to join the team. This individual will play a crucial role. This position will work directly under the supervision of the Vice President of R&D to support all cross-functional projects from R&D product specification development to commercialization. Senior Chef will also lead presentations/product demonstrations across all Seviroli/Vertullo foods channels, demonstrating product specifications and development knowledge. To succeed as Senior Chef, the person must grow in building our Brands by bringing items to market and supporting the needs of sales & marketing.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess excellent culinary skills and a food science background
  • Thorough knowledge of pasta processes and a strong background in Italian cooking
  • Understanding and demonstrating GMPs and Food Safety
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint, and knowledge of Project Manager
  • Task-oriented and able to reach set deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership

Responsibilities:

  • Support sales conversations with customers to facilitate innovations and create go-to-market items.
  • Serve as Culinary subject matter expert across all functional activities
  • Source and evaluate new ingredients from suppliers, assist in evaluating new suppliers and specification validations
  • Be flexible to help with any immediate projects or issues that arise in R&D or the Plant
  • Assist in the shipping of products when needed
  • Formulate recipes in the proper format to be handed off for costing, labeling, and testing.
  • Help procure ingredients needed for recipes and projects and source multiple ingredient options.
  • Update weekly priorities and keep track of projects (MS project knowledge beneficial)
  • Oversee culinary demonstrations using ingredients to support customer discussions around menu development and recipe ideation.
  • Understand the functionality of ingredients as they pertain to culinary and production development.
  • Conduct competitor product cuttings to identify key differences in product specifications to support sales conversations/opportunities & innovation priorities.
  • Collaborate with sales to create a library of sauce, product recipes, and training materials for sales presentations.
  • Show ability to learn, understand, and basic operation of pasta making & packaging machines
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Plan hospitality functions for the board, potential customers, and employee events
  • Ability to perform autonomously managing multiple tasks within established deadlines
  • Other job duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors in Culinary
  • Ten or more years of experience as Executive Chef or R&D Chef
  • Food Science background preferred
  • 25% Travel Required
