The Activities Supervisor is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of therapeutic, social, recreational, and educational activity programs for Program participants. Other responsibilities may include the supervision of program staff members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

Develops and implements activity programs that meet the needs of each clients of the program according to the individualized plan of care goals

Documents client’s participation, pertinent changes, and progress

Participates in the review of each client’s care plan

Provides ongoing assessment of the member’s physical, and psychological status

Directs and supervises assigned activity team members
- Including but not limited to Rehabilitation Specialist

Plans and schedules activities and social events for participants.
- Develops monthly calendars of activities and events
- Coordinates recreational activities and outings

Develops and implements educational programs for participants and staff members

Evaluates appropriateness and effectiveness of activities for individuals and groups

Assists the Program management as necessary with other participant services

Performs other related duties and activities as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations for decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:
Education and Experience:

2-3 years of prior experience in the coordination of an activities program within a social or recreational setting, with 1 or more years providing activity programs and services to a special needs population, preferably with the elderly

Supervisory experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
-
CPR and First Aid, as required by state regulations

All state required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes
Other Skills and Abilities:

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Ability to be flexible at all times in order to properly meet the needs of members

Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred to communicate with participants

Physical Requirements:
• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
