Category Manager
A strategic sourcing professional with leadership skills to
join a progressive procurement organization. This role will support the VP, Procurement
and requires strong category knowledge and experience in procuring various
services such as IT, General Services or Professional Services. This role will
establish and implement procurement sourcing strategies and support processes
to meet company-wide objectives. Familiar with IT procurement as it relates to:
data centers, telecommunications, network, software, hardware, storage,
Professional Services etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Position requires specific knowledge and experience in procurement and strategic sourcing processes
- Candidate should have general knowledge of contract law and procurement policies with ability to effectively negotiate commercial and legal positions
- Position also requires solid project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, ability to lead teams and present factual information and recommendations
- Candidate should have strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Business Expertise: 5 - 10 years’ experience. Ideal candidate will possess knowledge in the services sourcing field Candidate will have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, work well within a team environment and be able to positively influence outcomes with business areas that may be required to deal with change In this role, the candidate will communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a positive manner
- Leadership: Ability to influence without authority and the ability to manage timelines to keep projects and participants on track Candidate must be able to influence business partners in a positive manner and exhibit confidence
- Problem Solving: Role requires creative thinking and the ability to present outside of the box ideas and solutions Individual in this position will be able to independently form conclusions and make recommendations based on facts and evidence
- Nature of Impact: This role will advocate for change and positively impact organizational behavior in the way the company procures goods and services
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
- Responsible for the maintenance of an effective control environment under SOX 404 for the accounting operations he or she oversees. This includes both key and non-key controls and extends to the timely updating and modification of control design where necessary and the oversight of control remediation activities should exceptions be encountered in testing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Excel - Intermediate to Advanced
- Word –Intermediate
- PowerPoint – Intermediate
- Source to Pay Tools – Intermediate to Advanced
- Presentation Skills – Intermediate to Advanced
