Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Designs modern market data applications in Microservices Architecture. Implements business logic using Java 8 and Go 1.x according to Spring 4.x and Spring Boot 2.x frameworks. Programs in Go, Java, Python, and Groovy within Shell Scripting and Unix/Linux. Monitors systems using SRE golden signals service level metrics, observability metrics, and open standards. Delivers software application progress and milestones according to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies within an Agile environment. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise level services and middle tier streaming applications using Golang and Java in Microservice Architecture. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise level services and middle tier streaming applications using Golang and Java in Microservice Architecture. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing enterprise Representational State Transfer (RESTful) Web Services, using Golang with Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC) and Java in Spring frameworks; ensuring application security and removing security vulnerabilities using Web security principles and secure code scanning tools; and designing and implementing middle tier streaming applications using NoSQL databases — Redis and Apache Kafka. 

  • DE applying DevOps principles throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – performing CI/CD (using Jenkins, GoCD, and CircleCI) and code scan (SonarQube and CodeQL) for Web Services; and identifying performance bottlenecks and providing solution improvements for Web Services using Golang pprof. 

  • DE building container-based systems and deploying to Microsoft Azure and Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) using Docker and Kubernetes. 

  • DE building and testing Application Programming Interfaces (API’s), and debugging enterprise level services and middle tier streaming applications using Microservice Architecture.
