What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Coordinator position at SG Homecare?
Position Overview:
This position will provide support to our billing team as they work with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid. The Billing Coordinator will assist with the Accounts Receivable reports, review and appeal unpaid and denied claims, verify patients’ insurance coverage, and answer patients’ billing questions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares claims for submission via electronic or print submission.
- Identifies responsible party by examining patient record.
- Scanning and import of patient/payer documents including but not limited to EOBs, delivery tickets, and patient correspondence.
- Scanning and uploading of correspondence to third party vendors.
- Drafting of patient correspondence.
- Maintain patient and invoice files by entering and adjusting data.
- Clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
- Review sort and distribute inbound correspondence.
- Assist with projects as assigned.
- Review, resolve and respond to all revenue cycle tasks in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft office products.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.
- Able to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
