Job Title: Group Leader
Job Summary: As delegated by the Shift Supervisor (Supervisor), the Group Leader is responsible for the monitoring production processes and assisting in directing personnel in accomplishing production goals.
Essential Functions:
· Before shift begins reviews all job information on work running in the assigned area to stay current.
· Consult with Group Leader and Supervisor from previous shift to determine status of current jobs and to be informed of special circumstances or situations.
· Confirm every machine running has a supervisor signoff and customer approved sample.
· Account for all versions (i.e.: completed, yet to run, quantities run, etc.)
· Utilize run list; knowledge of job requirements and; familiarity with personnel to assign temporary and permanent personnel to production machines or processes.
· Work with Supervisor from allied departments to ensure all crewing requirements are met.
· Monitor startup operations to assure production begins in a timely fashion after personnel assignments are made.
· At the beginning of each shift review job requirements with each production crew; answer questions and resolve issues.
· Once production begins, observe performance of assigned personnel and make adjustments to crews as needed.
· In conjunction with Quality Control personnel assure all quality standards are adhered to including, but not limited to:
o Assure accuracy and quality of imaging if applicable.
o Measure material to assure proper dimensions are attained.
o Inspect closure process (e.g.: gluing, wafer seal, tab) for effectiveness and aesthetics.
o Confirm all USPS rules and regulations are adhered to when appropriate.
· Verify packing instructions for each job. Assure necessary supplies and equipment to fulfill packaging requirements is available to crews.
· Obtain proper labels or tags for each job. Inspect labels to confirm correct information is provided.
· Direct mechanics in set up of equipment on new jobs.
· Check on availability of stock for required setups.
· Record starting and ending production quantities for each machine for each shift worked.
· Before submitting finished piece to supervisor for startup approval (sign off) assure all requirements for job have been met. Work in conjunction with Quality Control personnel when necessary to accomplish.
· Direct floor helpers as required in areas assigned.
· Monitor and Report all problems, issues, etc. to Supervisors/Managers in a timely fashion.
· Maintain clean and safe work area.
· Advise material handlers when finished and packaged material is to be removed from machines.
· Coordinate and assist in post job break down of assigned machines.

· High School Diploma or GED
· Previous experience in finishing operations
· Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable

· Must be able to walk or stand for entire work shift (8 to 12 hours)

· May be exposed to controlled non-toxic chemical mists or vapors
