Position Summary
Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day site operations, based on the overall BU strategy concerning budget, capacity and cost. Implement new and revised strategies in alignment with Company and BU strategic initiatives and provide site personnel with a clear sense of direction and focus. Ensure that planned KPI targets are met or exceeded and oversees preparations of budgets; and approve expenditures to ensure that labor, materials and equipment are managed efficiently; pro-actively pursues efficiency, quality, and flexibility initiatives material price and salary increases, and to minimize impact of volume fluctuations, warranty or other quality related costs. Manages inventories and commercial obligations to optimize working capital requirements; Enforces APQP practices, and other upfront engineering activities, to ensure good launches and disciplined engineering change performance; and ensures that rigorous predictive and preventive maintenance practices are employed. #CB1

Key Accountabilities
- Providing leadership for the successful day-to-day operations of the site (creating accountability and leading by example).
- Allocating resources effectively, fully utilizing assets to produce optimal results, and monitoring operations and triggering corrective actions when necessary.
- Assuring compliance with Federal, State and local laws, regulations, and codes; assure compliance with Company policies and procedures; assuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Long- and short-term site planning, including succession planning, to align with BU strategy, goals, and KPIs. Setting of plant and capital budgets and effectively executing approved plant and capital budgets.
- Working closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to assure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of and properly implement and enforce all Environmental and Safety policies to provide a safe workplace for employees.
- Working closely with quality personnel to review product & process consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
- Promoting and encouraging site operations in a continuous improvement environment.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, leadership and managerial skills required.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills (process data driven mind-set).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants.
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly
- Strong Lean Production knowledge, e.g., 5s standards, Kaizen.
- BS degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5-years’ experience in the Automotive industry & related automotive quality & continuous improvement tools specifically, production and assembly related processes.
- Experience speaking in large group formats internally and to higher level management (such as Business Unit (BU) and MC/EC representatives).
