Job Description
As a casual Chemisrty Technician based in Darwin, NT, you will provide on-site analytical testing. Ensuring the safe and efficient running of our contracted laboratory operation and performing a range of analytical tests with minimal supervision.
Some other responsibilities will be:
- To perform sampling and testing of in-process, environmental, and utilities facilities
- Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of analytical instruments with a high degree of precision. Skills with the following instruments are considered essential: Gas Chromatography, Auto titrators, UV/Vis Photometry
- Maintain calibration records, analytical results, test reports, and maintenance records in the CLIENT intranet and LIMS system.
- Safely operate plant sampling stations for liquefied hydrocarbons, low and high pressure hydrocarbon gases, cryogenic liquids and hazardous aqueous liquids.
- Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, and obtain process status to safely configure appropriate sample collection equipment.
- Assist with the development of analytical procedures. As part of procedure development, the chemist must apply systematic knowledge integration from different sources.
- Conduct custody transfer analysis of LNG product with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform general laboratory duties and assist with the maintenance and development of the laboratory operation.
Qualifications
- Relevant Technical School qualifications or tertiary studies.
- Demonstrated experience in handling Petrochemical, Gas or Chemical Products.
- Proficient computer software literacy.
- Knowledge in Quality Systems.
