Job Description
Our client, a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of PE geomembranes and high-standard containment solutions, is looking for a Machine Safety Inspector / Expert.
The successful candidate will be a contractor and work on a as needed basis.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections based on information provided ( occupational risk assessments, user manuals, maintenance documents, regulatory requirements etc.
to identify machine safety hazards.
- Conduct equipment based Occupational Risk Assessments with available information.
- Provide machine risk rating.
- Recommend risk reduction measures and corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic tests, tests prior to commissioning, AMSCI inspections, test of safety related functions.
- Participate in Occupational Risk Assessments and Design Risk Assessments.
- Design review and consultancy, HAZOP’s, LOPA’s and SISTEMA calculations.
- Show awareness and the ability to autonomously find and mitigate systematic failures, can identify and address systemic failures.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge about regulations and standards including :
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910, Subpart O, including : OSHA & OSHA
- ANSI - Performance Requirements for Risk Reduction Measures
- ANSI - Safety of Machinery
- NFPA 79 (Chapters 9 and 10)
- ANSI / RIA , if / as applicable
- Understanding of the limits and interfaces between manufacturer and operator’s responsibilities and obligations.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety in regard to the environment and human behavior.
- The client has 6 sites in the US (GA, SC, TX, SD) and one site in Canada. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel.
- Hourly rate : $90 / 110 USD Travel Expenses.
