Shabby Fabrics is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our team and assist the Buyers with purchasing fabric, notions & patterns from suppliers. This individual is responsible for monitoring inventory, sales history, and selling momentum to make purchases and buying recommendations. They will also communicate with vendors, track purchase orders, and prepare our internal system for deliveries.
Responsibilities
Assist with placing purchase orders with suppliers.
Maintain proper inventory levels based on sales, usage, availability, and product life cycle.
Update and follow up on purchase orders.
Prepare our warehouse management system for upcoming deliveries.
Communicate with internal teams to keep them apprised of significant updates or changes to purchase orders.
Support Buyers by helping source and select new products.
Negotiate pricing with new suppliers.
Competencies
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on levels of importance.
Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Solid math skills.
Customer service mindset.
Knowledge or interest in the fabric industry.
