Shakespeare & Company seeks production staff for its one-person production of Golda’s Balcony in downtown Boston. Positions sought include Assistant Stage Manager / Wardrobe; Rehearsal ASM; Lighting / Sound Board Operator; Electricians / Theater Technicians; Stagehand / Carpenters, and Technical Director / Master Electrician – all listed below.

Assistant Stage Manager / Wardrobe Person:
The ASM / Wardrobe’s responsibilities include preparation of the stage space and costume for each rehearsal and performance; laundering and simple repairs of costumes and props backstage; assisting the Stage Manager with communication regarding the project and other stage managerial duties, and assisting the Actor with backstage needs. Work schedule includes a Tuesday through Sunday workweek. Position includes one-performance days plus additional hours of assistance at load-in and at strike. The ASM / Wardrobe shall work closely with others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require familiarity with costuming and stage management; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 19vthrough March 10, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $17.50 per hour.

Assistant Stage Manager, Rehearsals:
The rehearsal ASM’s responsibilities include assisting the Actor with lines and blocking; assisting the Stage Manager with communication regarding the project and other stage managerial duties; assisting others with any backstage or rehearsal room needs. Work schedule includes one Monday through Saturday workweek. Position may include some hours of assistance at load-in as well. The ASM shall work closely with others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require sitting, standing, pushing and pulling; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 19th through 24th, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $17.50 per hour.

Lighting / Sound Board Operator:
The Board Operator’s responsibilities include running lights and sound for performances and technical / dress rehearsal on a Tuesday through Sunday workweek, troubleshooting lights and sound with the assistance of the house Technical Supervisor throughout the run. Position includes one-performance days plus additional hours of assistance at load-in, light hang, and strike. The Board Op shall work closely with others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require familiarity with theatrical lighting and sound boards; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 19 through March 10, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $20.00 per hour.

Electricians / Theater Technicians:
Two sought; the Electrician’s responsibilities include assisting the TD / ME with the hang, circuiting and focus of lighting package at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box on February 19 and 20, 2024 and for strike on the evening of March 10, 2024. The Electrician shall work closely with the Technical Director and others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require familiarity with theatrical electrics; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 19 and 20, 2024, and March 10, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $20.00 per hour.

Stagehand / Carpenters:
Six sought; the Stagehand/Carpenter’s responsibilities include assembling seating risers and seating then assisting with other elements of load-in as time permits (hang, circuiting and focus of lighting, properties’ load-in) at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box on February 20, and the dismantling of the same on March 10, 2024. The Stagehand/Carpenter shall work closely with others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require familiarity with tools and hardware; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 20 and March 10, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $20.00 per hour.

Technical Director / Master Electrician:
The Technical Director / Master Electrician’s responsibilities include coordinating and providing a leadership role in the hang, circuiting and focus of lighting package at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box on February 19 and 20, the load-in of properties on February 19, the installation of seating risers and seating on February 20 and 21, preparation for sound playback and oversight of dry-tech and technical rehearsals and notes on February 21 and 22, 2024, as well as strike of the production on March 10, 2024. The TD / ME shall work closely with others assigned to ensure safe practices. This position will require familiarity with theatrical electrics and sound; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data. Dates are February 19 through 22 and March 10, 2024, in Boston, Mass. Salary: $22.50 per hour.
