What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Accounts Receivables Specialist - Accounting position at Shamrock Foods Company?
Performs various Accounting functions in Accounts Receivable, as well as assists with special projects. This is a primarily remote opportunity in Phoenix, AZ.
Essential Duties:
• Month-end general ledger account reconciliations, to include cash, trade and doubtful accounts
• Distribute 10-key cash amongst the AR clerks, and track progress throughout the day; Redistribute, if needed, to ensure all cash gets posted within the designated timeframe
• In the supervisor’s absence, manage the workload of the AR clerks, and assign/reassign tasks as necessary Assist the A/R supervisor, and outside agencies (Credit, AP, GL, Corporate, etc.), with additional duties and requests
• Cash posting, both 10-key and electronic, of lockboxes, wires, routes, remote deposits, etc.
• Electronic check scanning, and verification of the associated customer payment entries
• A/R Payment and Adage Invoice journals- balancing/posting
• Daily bank reconciliations, to include bank corrections & cash receipts
• ACH Credit bank deposits- pair up associated remittance advice; Lockboxes- download and save
• NSF’s, ACH Failures, CC Declines- post to associated customer accounts
• Assist the A/R clerks, as required
• Assist with related special projects, as required
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience processing high volume of transactions
• Microsoft Dynamics, OnBase and Adage experience a plus
• 10 Key by Touch (10,000 kph) required
• Intermediate Excel skills required
• Strong customer service skills
• Self-motivated multi-task abilities required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals required
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages required; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra required
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays
