What You’ll Do at Shapiro
Essential Functions:
- Efficiently coordinate daily checklists and Preventive Maintenance schedules for all equipment, demonstrating a keen eye for detail
- Work closely with the Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Supervisor to keep operations updated and aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate with the Assistant Plant Manager to purchase parts and supplies essential for repairs, ensuring compliance to safety, environmental, ISO, and DOT standards
- Assume responsibility for tracking, filing, and organizing all related records and documentation with precision and accuracy
- Contribute to the development of the metrics for the department, providing valuable insights to enhance operational efficiency and performance
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, reflecting a commitment to a safe and efficient working environment
- Lead and track a comprehensive safety program for the work area, fostering a culture of safety awareness and adherence
Additional Functions:
- Perform routine maintenance on various equipment, including Forklifts, Skid Steers, and Balers
- Address in-house mechanical issues related to equipment promptly and effectively
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Assistant Plant Manager
- Potentially responsible for repairing trailers as needed
- Work as a laborer on the floor when maintenance tasks are complete

Need to Have
- Three to five years of experience in Maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of general mechanics and truck repair
- Proficient in correctly using all equipment required for repair work
- Ability to interpret written instructions and write brief reports
