No MRI experience? That’s ok…if you are ARRT(R) we will train!

Anticipated Schedule:

  • 3-4 days per week

  • Every other Saturday rotation

  • Mobile unit coverage with dedicated route schedules

  • Weekly guarantee of hours

  • Schedules subject to change

Responsibilities:

  • Competently perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with accepted standards of practice, including administering contrast agents (under the guidance and approval of the site Radiologist)

  • Review and complete patient screening forms and properly explain the procedure to the patient

  • Maintain excellent patient care, comfort, safety and confidentiality, in addition to maintaining your technical competency through continuing education

  • Responsible for following and adhering to TJC/SMS Quality Standards

  • Maintain clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach

 

Qualifications:

  • ARRT registered or registry eligible-we will train in MRI!

  • You will need to produce quality special imaging with limited supervision, and you must be able to interact in a responsible, professional and ethical manner

  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check, urine drug screen and physical

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK: Under the general direction of the Regional Operations Manager, with the clinical supervision of the Radiologist at each site on the mobile route, performs examinations of patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.

  2. Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.

  3. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam.

  4. Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.

  5. Maintains competency to adminster proper IV injections of contrast material/radioactive material as directed by modality.

  6. Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.

  7. Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.

  8. Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed, if required.

  9. Provide images to the facility in the desired site format.

  10. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems.  Calls for service and notifies all pertinent Team Members.

  11. Assists with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.

  12. Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility.

  13. Completes necessary administrative tasks (i.e. time reports, billing, QA, etc).

  14. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.

  15. Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.

  16. Complies with all safety policies and regulations.

  17. Trains new Team Members as required and/or as assigned by the supervisor and/or SMS management.

  18. Performs additional duties as required.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

  1. Completion of a minimum of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program required.

  2. Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or obtain ARRT certification within six (6) months of employment.

  3. Must possess or be willing to obtain MR Advanced Registry.

  4. Must possess an active Permit to Practice where applicable and/or required.

  5. Must possess valid driver’s license with good driving record.

 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Operating knowledge of Personal Computers (PC) and medical charting systems.

  2. Capable of a flexible work schedule, with possibility of 10 hour days, may include overnight, weekend and holiday shifts.

  3. Must be able to interact with customer personnel and SMS Team Members in a responsible, professional and ethical manner.

  4. Must be able to produce high quality special imaging with little supervision.

  5. Must be willing and able to assist the Radiologist in his/her interpretation of exams.

  6. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  7. Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

  8. Ability to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.

  9. Responsible for the following and adhering to TJC/SMS Quality Standards which includes, but is not limited to: CPR, immunizations, training (SMS and Site Specific), Infection Control, and Invasive Procedures (if applicable).

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Work is primarily performed in mobile unit with frequent trips outside to transport patients during all seasons.

  2. Exposure to inclement weather from transporting patients to and from facility to mobile unit.

  3. Mobile unit has artificial lighting, with some daylight from windows or doors.

  4. Exposure to magnetic field in scan room.

  5. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues from working with patients and performing injections as required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the day.

  2. Climbs stairs to enter mobile unit and tractor.

  3. Squats or kneels and lifts objects from ground occasionally.

  4. Full extension of arms above head and in front of body.

  5. Frequently lifts weight of up to 10 pounds.

  6. Occasionally lifts weight of up to 75 pounds.

  7. Occasionally carries objects weighing up to 32 pounds.

  8. Occasionally push/pull objects with force of up to 72 pounds.

  9. May transfer patients weighing up to 550 pounds with a variety of assistance from other staff or equipment.

  10. Must possess good balance.
