JOB TITLE:  Crew Lead
REPORTS TO:  Branch Manager/Director of Operations                 Pay Grade: Non-Exempt
The role of the Crew Lead is to lead the crew to ensure job site quality and efficiency while doing so in a safety-focused environment. These individuals work closely with our Production Manager to deliver unparalleled service to our customers and their sites.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Safe and efficient transportation of crew to and from job sites.
  • Responsible for Aspire crew mobile for timekeeping, inventory allocation (material usage), and completion of assigned work tickets.
  • Proper time management of the people on their crew.
  • Responsible for loading and transportation of plants and materials.
  • Assure they have all the proper tools, materials, people, and job information before leaving the yard.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle; advise others of problems with the car. Conduct routine maintenance procedures on vehicles, such as fueling and fluid checks.
  • Ensure the site is ready before starting work, i.e., Mark out, top soiling, drainage, reveal is correct, and the home has water.
  • Set up crew logically and orderly and maintain organization during the day.
  • Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Advise supervisor of potential problems, i.e., scope of work issues and progress, property damage, auto accidents, WC injuries, performance, conflicts, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Motivate crew to work at optimum level.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site.
  • Responsible for company vehicles and equipment.
  • Clean and return any power equipment, and clean and repair the vehicle for next-day use.
  • Adhere to and enforce company dress code.
  • Attend and participate in informational and organizational meetings as requested.

Experience:
 
  • 3 -5 years of fieldwork experience with an emphasis on exterior services or comparable work

  • The physical activities of this position include:

    • Talking- Expressing or exchanging ideas employing the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
    • Repetitive motion – Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • The physical requirements of this position:
  • Lifting – Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position:
    • Work is performed primarily in a field environment with travel from site to site.
    • Working in moving traffic areas.
 
This position may exceed the standard 40-hour workweek during busier parts of the season. One must be flexible and well organized as job expectations may change due to the nature of our business. A company vehicle will be provided.
