Job Summary

The Landscape Superintendent is a management position that plays a critical role in driving and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in the field. This position coordinates the use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines, and quality standards. The Landscape Superintendent promotes the growth and development of field staff and assists them in carrying out their responsibilities. This role is responsible for managing the field operations of the company which consists of 6 landscape/hardscape crews that fulfill new build project scope. They will be responsible for the scheduling, routing, quality control, training, motivating, documenting and making sure that the company is meeting or exceeding the service agreements. They will manage the productivity of teams to ensure that revenue and profit goals are met, they will build a positive working culture that motivates and retains employees. This position is responsible to visit and walk clients’ properties to verify work has been completed to the Shasta standard, they will create accurate reports.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure landscape work and field operations are performed to the level of quality required to completely satisfy each customer; Manage submittals, RFI’s, project documentation, material requests, schedules, close-out documentation, project archives, as builds, etc.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures established by Shasta, OSHA and AZ ROC.
  • Maintain and update all regulatory requirements for vehicles, tools / equipment inventory and maintenance, and products(chemicals).
  • Identify and work to improve lower level performing crew leaders and crews.
  • Create capability within the crews through training, instruction, education, correction and follow-up.
  • Ensure that no crew is dispatched without job hours, a clear scope of work, and proper equipment.
  • Ensure all crews are working productively and to quality standards during scheduled work hours.
  • Inspect properties as quality assurance; Personally address immediate customer concerns on a property or project.
  • Maintain and enforce all safety and compliance protocols.
  • Complete two (plus) evaluation and expectation discussions with each Crew Leader.
  • Personally resolve concerns and conflicts and recommend improvements/resolutions within crews.
  • Perform emergency services to support crews to complete projects.
  • Ensure every crew has a plan that includes proper scope, proper sequence of task, the right number of people, the right personnel qualifications, training and certification for the job, the right equipment and man-hour targets.
  • Develop crew schedules accounting for and optimizing job locations, equipment allocation, crew skills, customer preferences, most productive job timing, job hours.
  • Act as a liaison between field operations and the administrative, customer service, and general management functions.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Skills/Qualifications

· 7 years minimum residential and/or commercial landscape experience.

· Must have a valid driver’s license with clean MVR

· Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish. -Required

· Must be able to pass a drug screening test and background check.

· 8 years of landscape experience including 3 years as a manager is preferred but may be flexible based on other qualifications.

· Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of job budgets and scheduling.

· Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software programs.

· Must be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills.

· Must be well organized with strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.

· Must have the ability to think proactively, plan and problem solve with minimizing disruption, errors, risks and keeping project on-task, within budget and on-time.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.

· Ability to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitation.

· Must be able to move and/or lift up to 70 pounds consistently.

· Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the work day.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
