Position Overview

Position Objective :

Monitors conveyors, scales, and bar code labels. Ensures correct yarn label is applied to case units.

Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility) :

1. Monitors all conveyors; clears errors and restarts the conveyor allowing yarn to move efficiently through the sortation system.

2. Monitors scales and bar code labels to ensure all information is correct and correct yarn label is applied to case units.

3. Reloads strapping material, labels, and bar code printer as needed.

4. Manually enters all misreads at scales.

5. Rejects all cases that are mislabeled and ensures cases are relabeled by appropriate department.

6. Records downtime on log sheet as it occurs.

7. Submits work order to Maintenance as mechanical problems occur.

9. Monitors stretch wrap machines to ensure quality wrapping.

10. Visually inspects all cases for damages and / or discrepancies.

11. Repairs cases as required. Returns cases damaged beyond repair or that do not meet requirements to appropriate department.

12. Fills out Nonconformance Documentation Report and Yarn Returned Report as needed.

13. Complies with procedures found in Shaw Management System (SMS).

14. Works normally scheduled days in compliance with the Plant Attendance Policy. Works overtime as required.
