Job Summary:
The Ongoing Child Protective Services Case Manager provides case management services directed at ensuring the safety of children. This position has an assigned caseload, interviews families, conducts investigations, creates safety plans, and assists families in securing resources necessary to ensure child safety. This position also prepares paperwork necessary for court appearances.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Accept requests and referrals for services and determine through interviews, home visits and collateral investigations the range of services needed.
-Interview clients, evaluate intake information and determine client needs.
-Explain the scope of services offered and discuss the client's rights and responsibilities in relation to his/her use of such services.
-Assist in planning services appropriate to client's problems, maintain client contact and review and modify plans as necessary.
-Prepare studies of individuals and families in need of services and recommend and appropriate course of action.
-Maintain accurate and current case records, reports and other types of correspondence.
-Attend in-service training and staff development activities.
-May speak before community groups on specific social problems and services.
-Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Work Requirements:
-Bachelor's of Social Work degree (BSW) from four-year college or university, preferred; or Bachelor's Degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow gaining a state of Wisconsin Social Work License within two years of employment.
-One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Requires a valid Wisconsin driver's license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy. Requires Social Work licensure from the State of Wisconsin or the ability to obtain one.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.52 - $29.17 per hour
