Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with a wide range of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, and metabolic conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and best practices in endocrinology.
- Collaborate closely with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients with complex endocrine conditions.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies relevant to endocrine disorders, including thyroid ultrasound, fine-needle aspiration biopsy, and dynamic hormone testing.
- Educate patients and their families about their endocrine conditions, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies to optimize health outcomes and quality of life.
- Supervise and collaborate with the Physician Assistant in the provision of comprehensive endocrine care, including patient evaluation, follow-up visits, medication management, and patient education.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, grand rounds, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge, promote evidence-based practice, and contribute to the professional development of colleagues and staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in electronic health records, in compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Endocrinology.
- Active medical license in the state of Louisiana, with eligibility for hospital privileges if hospital consults are required.
- Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders, with a focus on diabetes management, thyroid disease, and other common endocrine conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement.
- Prior experience working in an outpatient endocrinology practice preferred but not required.
- Competitive base salary of $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Sign-on bonus of $25,000 and relocation assistance of $10,000, both negotiable based on candidate's needs.
- Additional incentives such as student loan repayment assistance up to $50,000, negotiable as part of the compensation package.
