What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stocker position at Shell Oil?
The Stocker will ensure the store is set up for a successful day and that all shelves are properly stocked; inventory and back room duties are complete.
Responsibilities
- Follows daily work schedule as assigned by management providing exceptional customer service.
- Inspects shelves for low stock conditions. Removes stock from storage area and replenishes shelves and display cases.
- Sorting the grocery products and assigning them with relevant labels and price tags.
- Keeping track of the products life or expiration dates and record of the grocery inventory.
- Disassembles and flattens packing boxes and dispose of disassembled boxes.
- Maintains company standards of shelves and displays, straightening product and pulling cardboard.
- Accurately handles customer funds and processes transactions using the POS system.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store for customers during their shopping experience.
- Helps in the unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks, organizes merchandise, and transports merchandise from stockroom to sales floor.
- Remains constantly aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Basic math and counting skills required
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
