What are the responsibilities and job description for the Taproom Manager position at Shellring Ale Works?
The Taproom Manager/Event Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operations of the Taproom as directed by Ownership. To include managing Taproom staff, activities as well as on-site/off-site events, and social media.
This is an active position that requires an individual that can show initiative, work independently, be self-directed, can multitask, be flexible and thrive within the culture of Shellring Ale Works. Weekends, evenings and some holidays are required.
Taproom Responsibilities:
- Beertending activities including serving and interacting with customers, pouring beer, /opening/closing taproom
- Managing Beertenders, including scheduling staff, assigning tasks, communicating with staff regarding events, new beers, daily updates
- Identify areas/opportunities for increased customer experience
- Identify areas/opportunities for increased revenue
- Update and manage beer line up in coordination with Brewer including maintaining Untappd app and menus
- Social media including website, Facebook, Instagram and signage in taproom
- Point of Sales, cash drawer and cash order management
- Supply management: order/stock taproom soda/snacks, janitorial supplies
- Merchandise management: orders/stock t-shirts, hats, etc.
- Respond to customers issues
- Maintain clean and safe environment, report safety issues in a timely manner
Event Coordination Responsibilities:
- Work with guests to develop their event.
- Assist with event development and execution to include sourcing/scheduling bands and vendors
- Social media including website, Facebook and Instagram
Skills and Experience:
- Have a sense of urgency, eye for detail, killer personality,
- Supervisory experience in a retail setting, taproom highly preferred
- Ability to show leadership
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Have timely communication skills
- Have exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Be proficient in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word and other related software
- Be proficient in social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
- Possess good math skills especially as it relates to cash handling and credit card processing
- Follow good safety practices
- Sit, stand, walk, for extended periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
