How you will spend your day as a Yard Lead:

• Unloads or oversees the unloading and storage of incoming merchandise. Ensures that the merchandise received matches’ order.
• May schedule and dispatch customer deliveries to job sites.
• Evaluates returned merchandise for proper disposition (resale, salvage, etc.).
• Directs and trains personnel in assigned work area which may include, Yard/Warehouse Workers, Forklift Operators and Truck Drivers.
• Organizes yard layout according to merchandise needs. May complete requisition for replacement of stock merchandise.
• Completes required inspections and forms. Ensures maintenance is performed.
• May use chainsaw to cut lumber.
• Oversees cut lumber and notifies supervisor so that inventory may be adjusted.
• Trains associates; plans, assigns, and directs work; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts.

Yard Lead Requirements:

• Experience. 6 months of previous experience in the building material industry. (Preferred)
• Physical. Ability to stand for 8 hours per work shift. Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
• Heavy Lifting. Ability to lift to 50-75lbs repetitively throughout the work shift.
• Teamwork. Ability to work as a team and help motivate others.
• Excellence. Must have an excellent work ethic.
