Job Posting for Certified Nurse Midwife at Shenandoah Valley Medical System Inc
Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) is recruiting an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our multi-disciplinary team in Martinsburg, WV. This is a clinical position requiring a degree in midwifery from an accredited institution and certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) to practice midwifery. The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide safe, consistent, and appropriate patient care including preventive women’s health services, health maintenance, routine, and acute care within the scope of her/his training.
Role & Responsibilities:
Maintain active registered nurse and midwifery license as well as DEA certification.
Comply with American Midwifery Certification Board (ACMB) CME requirements for midwifery certification and state CEU requirements for registered nursing licensure.
If required by Shenandoah Valley Medical System (SVMS), obtain, and maintain affiliate staff privileges at Berkeley Medical Center
Provide full scope midwifery care (well woman, antepartum, intrapartum, post-partum, family planning) within the scope of training.
Develop and participate in community, staff, and patient education.
Share hospital call with other CNMs.
Assist in quality assurance programs for SVMS and Shenandoah Women’s Health.
Participate in SVMS committees as requested by Women’s health director or SVMS Medical Director.
Serve as educational preceptor for nurse practitioner or nurse midwifery students from educational programs after contractual agreements made with SVMS. Serve as educational preceptor for West Virginia University medical students on voluntary basis.

Qualifications & Education Requirements (add Licensure on pertinent jobs):
Graduate of School of Midwifery accredited by ACNM.
Certification in Midwifery from the ACMB.
Active unrestricted RN and CNM license in West Virginia.
Must have an active WV DEA by start date.
Maintain BLS certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) certification.
