Part-time Logistics Specialist

DescriptionShepard is seeking a Logistics Specialist that will solicit, quote, and sell local, regional, and domestic shipping services, including air, group, van line, flatbed, truck load, and caravan.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESSell and administer logistics services both in-house and occasionally at show site Provide rate quotes with a target defined profit margin Provide routing with preferred carrier baseSet up FTL and LTL loads through preferred carrier program Provide customers with proper shipping documents, including shipper letter of instructions, bill of lading, and labels Track and trace shipments from pickup through POD Invoicing and cash collections for balance duesProcess and maintain accounting reports for A/R purposesHandle overages, shortages, and damagesProcess and resolve claims filed by customersAll other duties as assignedRequirementsAbility to work overtime and on-call on weekends when required At least 1 year of experience selling and servicing shipping or transportation servicesAt least 1 year of customer service experience Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to organize tasks and meet deadlines Experience using web-based shipping vendor websitesHigh Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and ability to use standard office equipmentCollege degree preferred but can be substituted for relevant work experienceDemonstrate Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Integrity, Spirit, Responsiveness, Inclusive, and TeamworkAbility to perform as a responsible ESOP owner making daily decisions to benefit the client and company Treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, as outlined in our Blue Diamond Customer Service ProgramShepard is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
