Bookkeeper
Shepard, Smith, Kohlmyer & Hand, P.A. in Maitland, Florida is seeking a bookkeeper with a minimum of 4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting for a law firm.
We are a full-service law firm that represents private and public clients, including all aspects of local government law, real estate development, and litigation. The firm has been serving clients in Central Florida since 2008, with a team of experienced and dedicated attorneys who are committed to providing high-quality legal services with positive outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be well organized and comfortable dealing with financial data. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll and conducting other tasks related to finance. They should be excellent at recording data and have an ability to produce clear financial reports.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
- Recognized accounting qualification or qualification by experience
- Experience with trust account compliance
- Full bookkeeping services including expenses, taxes, cash flow, receipts, accounts payable and receivable
- Weekly Reporting on accounts and transactions for cashflow report
- Quarterly reporting on attorney allocations and bonuses
- Ensure timely processing of payroll including complex payroll calculations and reporting
- Administration of 401k
- Support in preparing tax returns with contracted accountants
- Computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office and accounting software, including Quickbooks
- Sensitivity when dealing with confidential matters such as payroll & pensions
- Implementation and monitoring of accounting control policies & processes
- Reporting process with bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Team focused and flexibility to be able to react promptly to urgent requirements
- Time management skills adhering to internal and external deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
