Shepherd’s Finance, LLC is a finance company specializing in lending to homebuilders. While privately owned, the company borrows money from the public and is therefore registered as a public company with the SEC and numerous states, and makes public company filings, such as 10-k’s and 10-q’s, etc. We have 19 employees.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our dynamic team at Shepherd’s Finance, LLC. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Provide insights into financial performance and variances to budget.
• Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process. Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address audit inquiries in a timely manner.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other operations, to support business initiatives and address financial-related inquiries.
• Daily management of cash reporting and reconciliation.
• Creation and maintenance of general ledger accounts, journal entries
• Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Check creation (mostly automated).
• Payroll processing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
