POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Banquet Setup Date: March 2022
Reports to: Director of Event Operations and Banquet Captain
Purpose: Physically performs setup and breakdown for banquets and meetings, inside and out-of-doors, per banquet event orders.
Job Functions:
- Ensure the safe transportation of banquet equipment -- chairs, dance floor, risers, tables, etc.
- Ensure the proper control, maintenance and storage of banquet equipment including ashtrays, candy dishes, glassware, linens, pads/ pens, A/V equipment, etc.
- Maintain the daily cleanliness of all banquet areas: ballrooms, back hallway, office and storage.
- Ensure an appealing, organized and professional presence.
- Perform set-up, breakdown, maintenance and storage of tents, as instructed.
- Follow proper safety and security procedures.
- Ensure cooperation with other departments and staff.
- Report problem situations to Banquet Captains and Director of Event Operations.
- Learn and know general knowledge of banquet facilities: capacities, locations, room names, etc.
- Learn and apply proper interpretation of setup diagrams.
- Perform various other duties as assigned in a professional and timely manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 lbs. over the shoulder.
- Able to lift 100 lbs.
- Able to lift and carry 80 lbs. for 20 yds.
- Able to push and/or pull 200 lbs.
- Able to bend, pull, push and twist.
- Able to swing 20 lb. sledge hammer to drive tent stakes.
- Able to work extended shifts (10-12 hours).
- Able to work outside in high humidity and temperatures.
