- Manages the Chemistry,, Special Chemistry
- Ensures proper staff training.
- Performs staff competency assessments.
- Responsible for proper staffing and contingency planning.
- Monitors inventory control, anticipates needed supplies and ensures timely ordering, receipt and proper storage of supplies.
- Establishes Quality Control procedures.
- Conducts supervisory review of documentation.
- Ensures proper operation of all equipment. Contacts technical support when necessary and maintains service reports.
- Monitors staff's activities for compliance to policies and procedures.
- Recommends improvements when nonconformities are identified. Implements corrective action plans accordingly.
- Monitors staff's continuing education activities.
- Cooperates with the Quality Assurance department on quality improvement activities.
- Actively participates in management meetings.
- Conducts staff meetings.
- Ensures that proficiency testing is being performed according to procedures and policies.
- Manages overall laboratory operation by ensuring appropriate implementation of protocols to guarantee safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results.
- Communicates problems to upper management in a timely fashion
Education requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field and six years experience after acquiring the NYSDOH medical technologist's license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $91,648.00 - $99,685.00 per year
