This position is accountable for implementing and controlling the procurement of raw materials, containers, cartons, and related packaging supplies on time and at the best price. While achieving the above goals, the Buyer must maintain an uninterrupted flow of production and keep appropriate inventory levels while attaining plant inventory and production efficiency goals.
What you will do:
- Plan and purchase raw and packaging components for the manufacturing facility
- Expedite/de-expedite components based on inventory levels and production schedules
- Analyze label requirements and take necessary action to ensure labels coordinate with batch shipment
- Review MRP daily for unusual production to determine inventory levels
- Interface with Production, Receiving, and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Assist with production scheduling
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eighteen (18) years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment work visa status
- Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of work experience in supply chain
- One (1) year of experience in a supply chain function or completion of a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an operations or supply chain environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in raw material buying
- Experience with QAD, Oracle, or SAP
