CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Management of Others
- Facilitates performance management process to achieve business results
- Directs individual contributors
- Develops project and/or group budgeting. Estimates resource needs and probability of success. Plans schedules and directs work of group/project. Propose and control budget for group/project.
- Champions team growth and development. Ensure internal bench of controls resources.
Strategic Planning and Innovation
- Identifies and recommends portfolio of strategic projects that directly contribute to business results
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners
- Identifies innovation opportunities and champions development of new project proposals
Design and/or Continuously Improve Systems, Tools, and Processes
- Identify and lead Continuous Improvement efforts to drive improvement in the 5 Focus Areas. Drive tools and processes to ensure sustainable performance.
- Champion, lead and/or manage the development of design drawings, functional specifications, detailed cost estimates, and user documentation for systems on capital projects and plant processes.
Area(s) of Specialization:
- Controls Engineering
- Site expert for training and organizational adoption of SW Batch
- Provide 24x7 support of control systems on site. Leverage CI tools to drive support call reduction.
- Champion site continuous improvement process for control systems
- Site Contact for execution of ICS Security Program
- Secondarily develop functional specifications and code for non-SW Batch applications.
- Process Engineering
- Owns the site strategic plan for Process Engineering
- Establish development plan for Process Engineers
- Champion Process Engineering Continuous Improvement projects with validated savings and leverage successful CIPs from other locations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION
Required:
- BS Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Basic Qualifications:
Required:
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to work in the US without Sponsorship
- Relevant experience in Controls Engineering
Preferred:
- 8 years pertinent engineering experience or manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated supervisory/management experience
- PLC programming knowledge
- Familiarity/experience with Continuous Improvement processes/techniques: i.e. 6 sigma certified, lean, transactional lean, root cause analysis, project management, etc.
- Effectual Process Safety Management experience
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Demonstrated application of Controls Engineering principles
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software and ability to read/review engineering drawings is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD usage is helpful.
- Knowledge and understanding of pertinent NFPA & NEC codes
- Knowledge of Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) in Controls and Automation.
- Advanced problem solving skills (ARC 301)
Preferred:
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLC hardware and programming
- Proficiency with SW Batch application
