SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Vice President is responsible for the safety and soundness of the program; ensuring the highest level of compliance to regulatory guidelines surrounding BSA, Anti-Money Laundering and Commercial accounts is employed; ensuring the VP/management is informed of substantial issues that may result in fines or legal action. The Assistant Vice President will assist VP/management with the strategic plan and implementation by recommending products and services, new income generators based upon the needs of clients change to cross sell. Ensure that regular communication is set with the Portfolio Managers who will provide feedback from the service representatives and their own communication with clients.
POSITION DUTIES:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
- Repot to VP regularly and thoroughly – program progress, changes, issues and strategic accomplishments.
- Focus on retention of SHF clients, where can be allowed and not under compliance concerns
- Ensure accounts that are opened are activated and work with portfolio managers and staff to work inactive accounts to profitability.
- Assist with the development policy recommendations to senior management for consideration
- Ensure procedures are created to implement and support approved policies
- Ensure understanding of different policies and procedures across the various financial institutions working with SHF and be able to support staff in that educate of the nuances between institutions
- Approve Accounts for portfolio; ensuring documentation is complete and sufficient to meet KYC standards.
- Hire Staff as required in a timely manner to ensure BSA Compliance standards are met; managing to benchmark performance and ensuring sufficient coverage of portfolio risk management
- Manage Re-balancing of service representative portfolios
- Ensure bankers maintain accounts sufficient to meet tier in which they are paid
- Provide sufficient coverage in the absence of Portfolio Managers to ensure service representative support.
- Monitor Portfolio Managers to ensure proper oversight and monitoring of service representatives is regularly completed
- Perform random reviews and tracking to support the portfolio managers to ensure training is sufficient and compliance concerns are being handed over and transparent with the BSA team
- Assist VP with program automation and enhancements to optimize staff efficiencies and improve analysis of accounts and clients.
- Implement all changes to program as directed.
- Ensure full compliance and understanding of the program; keeping team members up to date on performance
- Provide VP annual input for strategic plan to further the function and program as it matures.
- Create processes that sustain efficient operations and effective monitoring practices for functional area.
- Interface with clients as required to assist with problem resolution.
- Ensure corporate understanding of the program; keeping team members up to date on performance
- Ensure sufficient training of all staff members within the program.
- Assist VP/Management to Ensure responses to all audit findings completed in a timely manner; making systematic changes to issues that may need attention.
- Direct and Assist with program automation; removing all manual processes possible to ensure more efficient monitoring.
- Coach and mentor Portfolio Managers and ensure on-going training for management/leadership is being done
- Track and monitor goals and incentive plans and report to VP/management on a regular basis
- Ensure staff has the appropriate resources to achieve goals each year
- Ensure client retention, where possible, is a focus for all staff
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance; regularly reviewing updates surrounding FinCEN, AML, BSA and Commercial Account Management.
- Interface with examiners and other official agencies as required and requested; providing answers, documents and information requested or needed to support our position.\
- Monitor third parties for service standards and viability; ensuring that relationships that need to be terminated or improved are reported to senior management for correction.
- Work with third parties to test program enhancements; making recommendations on direction to senior management.
- Ensure collection of third-party fees associated with partnership or marketing agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of financial institution supervisor/management experience
- High school graduate, BA or BS in Management or related degree
- Compliance Training
- Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
- BSA Certification required; will train if necessary
- Ability to Self-train on this new industry and apply knowledge to protect Safe Harbor
- Ability to STRICTLY follow and adhere to regulatory guidelines and rules surrounding the service to this industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Salary : $77,688 - $120,850
