JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monthly reporting to ownership of fixed assets for 150 hotel properties
- Track Capex projects/spending for budgeted & emergency requests
- Close-out 100% fulfilled purchase orders in the accounting system (Dynamics)
- Work closely with other Capex team members regarding capitalization policy, pitching in with daily requests when workload is heavy, and day-to-day questions.
- Prepare/Review and post "expense" to "fixed asset" - reclass journal entries
- Reconcile "construction-in-progress" accounts and reclass amount to the correct fixed asset account once project is complete
- Review, assess for appropriateness and process requests for Capital Expenditures from 150 hotel properties.
- Serve as primary liaison between properties and corporate leadership on capital spending matters.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong financial and analytical acumen
- Ability to exercise sound judgment relative to problem solving matters
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PC based General Ledger software packages
- Good problem solving and general ledger reconciliation skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Impeccable organizational and time management skills
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- degree in Accounting or Finance
- Two (2) to four (4) years of prior accounting experience
