A/P Accountant at Shiel Sexton

The A/P Accountant position with Shiel Sexton is a mid-level accounting position that is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of high-volume construction payables from subcontractors and vendors. A successful candidate will have experience in construction payables including the entry of subcontractor AIA G702/G703 billings. We are looking for someone forward-thinking to contribute to the streamlining of processes and efficiencies.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Ownership of SSCAP email portal for all incoming payables
• Accurate and timely entry of construction payables into ERP Accounting system for multiple entities
• Reconciling Monthly Statements for non-committed project costs
• Responding to vendor/subcontractor payment inquires
• Responsibility for 1099 reporting
• Processing of weekly check runs for multiple entities
• Responsibility for review of AP aging for discounts and credits
• Assisting in the management of AP Vendor system

Skills/Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in construction
• Intermediate knowledge of ERP software and payable entry
• Understanding of accounts payable lifecycle
• Understanding of construction G702/G703 billing documents
• Understanding of impact of stored materials/retainage on subcontractor’s billings
