MRI Technologists support the integrity of the organization with their commitment to excellence. The MRI technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and gives direction to technologist and technologist aide staff, including input in the evaluation process.
- Assist Manager with scheduling and sick call response.
- Assist Manager with weekly payroll function.
- Organize and assign work to maintain an efficient multi-task environment.
- Assume responsibility for decisions made in all clinical operations and procedures in conjunction with management.
- Maintain current technologist credentials and CEU records and work with credentialing department to keep up to date.
- Responsible for OSHA training, Blood Borne pathogens training, monthly job safety training, fire drills, magnet safety training, and mock codes.
- Periodically review injury reports for employees and patients and determines training and safety needs.
- Responsible for additional views record keeping and analysis.
- Assist in protocol development and education.
- Medical equipment responsibilities, including monitoring quality of service, maintaining accurate records of P.M.s and service call, and performing weekly ACR and laser camera QA.
- Familiarity with and participation in ACR accreditation process.
- Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Perform scan in accordance to center's protocol.
- Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
- Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films when appropriate.
- Forward data and or films to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
- Refilm cases as time allows.
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
The Skills:
This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience. Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
In addition the applicant will need to:
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
