Shields Health has an exciting opportunity for an PET/CT Technologist, to work 40 hours/week (Mon 7:30a-6p; Wed 6:30a-5p; Thurs 10:30a-9p; Fri 11a-9:30p) at our mobile unit split between Worcester, Fitchburg, and Springfield, MA. Part-Time and Per Diem options also available.

Must be certified in CPR
Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.

- PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
- Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
- Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
- Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films when appropriate.
- Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
- Refilm cases as time allows
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
- EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be certified in CPR
