You will forge strong relationships as you provide basic services for your clients, including assisting with personal hygiene, physical activities and certain chores. You will become a valuable member of the care team of your assigned clients to ensure that the needs of the patient are provided.
Caregiver Job Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and personalized care to individuals in need
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication and monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with transportation to appointments or social outings
Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Experience in hospice care or willingness to learn about end-of-life care
- Strong caregiving skills, including empathy, patience, and attentiveness
- Understanding of social work principles and ability to connect clients with appropriate resources
- Proficient in meal preparation and knowledge of special dietary needs
- Ability to provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, toileting, and dressing
- Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in health status
- Experience in dementia care or willingness to undergo training in dementia care techniques
- Knowledge of assisted living facilities and services
