Role Description:
As Commercial Counsel, you will play an integral role to support our rapidly growing and evolving tech enabled e-commerce platform that enables third party logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, and supply chain operations. You will work directly with the business, serving as counsel on strategic commercial and intellectual property initiatives, providing day-to-day advice, guiding privacy and data protection initiatives, and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.
You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

What you’ll do:
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts in the US and internationally, including terms of service, warehousing and fulfillment agreements, carrier and transportation agreements, broker agreements, partnership agreements, marketing agreements, bailee agreements, and procurement agreements, etc.
Manage the Legal team’s intellectual property and data privacy initiatives, including negotiating technology agreements, developing terms of service, product development, GDPR and CCPA compliance, and IP portfolio strategy.
Collaborate with various teams such as Transportation and Warehousing Operations, Product, Engineering, Revenue, and Procurement to collect input, ensuring our standard agreements appropriately reflect business needs.
Stay up to date on relevant industry, commercial, intellectual property, privacy and compliance issues.
Develop internal processes to inspire growth and capture new learnings.
Efficiently manage outside legal resources.
Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
5 years of relevant commercial transactional and intellectual property experience, in-house and/or at a law firm.
Significant experience negotiating, drafting, and solving issues for various types of commercial contracts, including those relating to warehousing, logistics and intellectual property.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial initiative - ability to self-manage, find creative ways to work through barriers, actively learn necessary skills, and manage projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor.
J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000.
