Job Posting for Full Charge Bookkeeper at Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial records and transactions. This includes but is not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Management: Handle the full cycle of accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, providing insights to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets, track expenses against budget, and provide support for financial forecasting.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Assist in preparing and submitting timely and accurate tax returns.
Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring proper documentation for examinations and financial reviews.
Communication: Collaborate with other departments and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role, demonstrating expertise in all aspects of accounting. (5 to 10 years)
Education: Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not mandatory. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
Software Skills: Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), Microsoft Office Products (Excel is a must), and other relevant financial tools.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance team members.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
