ShipperHQ is a bootstrapped startup headquartered in Austin, TX making a big impact in the eCommerce shipping space. Founded in 2009, we are a premier supplier of shipping software for eCommerce sites, selling to both SMB and Enterprise clients. We work with some of the largest retailers and ecommerce platforms. We have a fantastic reputation, and are recognized for our high quality service. Our SaaS product, ShipperHQ, launched in 2015 and is growing quickly!
We have 60 staff spread across the UK, Australia, Canada and the US. 40 members are based in Austin, TX. We are seeking an outgoing individual with a positive attitude that is willing to grow with the company.
We are looking for a strong technical writer to join our growing product team here at ShipperHQ. Your role will be to create simple, easy to understand content to engage an delight our merchants by helping them succeed in implementing the shipping strategies they require for their business..
The Technical Writer will contribute in the following areas:
- Maintain, grow and develop our customer documentation portal by working closely with the customer success and product teams to keep our documentation up to date, document new features and capabilities while ensuring we have high-quality content and satisfied autonomous merchants.
- Write content that meets the needs of ShipperHQ customers, using language that sets our users up for success
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand supported and unsupported use cases
- Strategize and write the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension
- Work with design team on graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing
- Manage a 300 strong knowledge base using data (user feedback, customer success feedback, etc.) to improve the knowledge base impact
- Remains up-to-date on technological and product developments in the ecommerce and shipping industries
The ideal candidate has the following experience:
- 4 years of industry experience as a technical writer
- Previous experience writing documentation for non-technical users
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
- Experience working with engineering, design and product to improve user experience
- Good prioritization and time management skills
- Self-learner: Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics and products
