What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Center weekend staff position at Shirley's House of Hope?
Shirley's House of Hope is a faith-based domestic violence and recovery shelter with the purpose of helping with the personal restoration of women hurting from the effects of abuse and addiction. We are looking for a woman who is mature in her faith with a calling on her life to minister to women and children. She should possess good communication skills, should be compassionate and patient, and understand that confidentiality is expected in this environment. She should hold the leadership capabilities to make decisions under pressure and be a team player. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The hours for this position are Friday noon to 8pm, Saturdays 8am to 8pm, and Sundays 10am to 8pm (these hours can be negotable).
Specific requirements include:
Providing leadership and management to all areas of operation of the recovery center in absence of the manager.
Along with the Recovery Center manager, talk with clients about meeting their personal goals.
Facilitate a weekly community meeting/activity with all clients in the center to discuss chores and scheduling for the upcoming week.
Ensure that clients are doing chores as scheduled, room is clean, do random drug testing
Monitor clients doing personal devotions and attending church.
Initiate appropriate consequences for client behavior that doesn’t comply with guidelines, assisting them in leaving the recovery center if necessary.
When a client is leaving the recovery center, assist them in finding appropriate housing.
Properly handle donations and management of donation storage room.
Active involvement in Special events, ie. Marshfield Iron Chef and Striking Out Domestic Violence.
Qualifications:
Outstanding Christian character that reveals genuine spiritual maturity, integrity and honesty
Strong, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a sense of calling.
Humble spirit and belongs to a local church where there is accountability and is known as one who consistently follows biblical principles both personally and professionally.
High level of communication skills, skilled with problem solving processes and ability to successfully work with people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity.
Strong team player, mentor and self-starter
Must be able to keep confidential all information
Enthusiastically supports and articulates the Philosophy of Ministry, Statement of Faith and core values of SHOH.
Must be able to pass the background check
Willingness to practice appropriate balance among accountability, consequences and grace toward other people.
