What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Buyer - Home position at Shop LC?
ROLE OVERVIEW
Shop LC is looking for an Associate Buyer - Home who will oversee buying strategies for Shop LC’s home product brands. Ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of home products buying along with experience in pricing for such products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Forecast trends for home products, with a strong focus on color, style, and fashion.
- Source vendors for the appropriate items and work closely with buying teams to purchase items in good time for delivery during peak popularity periods
- Develop new product and display ideas to increase customer awareness and interest
- Analyze past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs as per the Budget.
- Minimize old stock and consistently source new products
- Work with vendors regarding life cycle of a product, from selection of raw material through to the finished product
- Develop new products to be introduced into our home product lines
- Have good supplier base in US market to get products domestically.
- Strong Analytical skills to manage OTB.
- Open for travel (minimum 1 trip in quarter to India and China location)
- Sourcing Domestic vendors to manage Drop ship program.
- Open to work in fast changing TV retail environment.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion or related field.
- Multi-unit buying background with experience in multiple categories of home products related high SKU volume products preferred
- 2 years of experience as an Associate Buyer within a large volume, fast paced business
- Strong team interpersonal skills and experience interacting with vendors
- Track record of success in creating a profitable merchandise mix utilizing forecasting, inventory management and assortment planning
- Experience as the sourcing agent for other high-volume, high-sales organizations
- Flexible and adaptable team player with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel both domestic and international with valid passport

Physical Requirements
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps
- Moving around to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Retail Units Overview
A subsidiary of VGL, TJC was established in London, UK in 2006 and now broadcasts live to 25 million homes in US as well as serves customers through the website TJC.co.uk. TJC ships approx. 12000 products to its UK customers every day. TJC employs approx. 220 people in London in various divisions like LC with extended teams in India.
A new subsidiary of VGL, ShopLC Germany was recently launched in Dusseldorf, Germany. Digital website is already live (ShopLC.de) and TV broadcast is expected to launch in July 2021.
