Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Observe store rules and company policies.
· Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code.
· Observe shift operating hours at all times as scheduled or assigned by store manager.
· Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations.
· Be familiar with and able to perform all duties and responsibilities of an experienced grocery clerk.
· Delegate and assign responsibilities and specific tasks to night crew members as directed by store management and workloads; to follow up on assignments given to employees and hold them accountable for their performance and ability to perform required workloads.
· Monitor procedures for piece marking and restocking to ensure accuracy, proper product rotation, and quality protection.
· Monitor procedures to ensure that cartons are opened properly to control potential for damage to goods and handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy.
· Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control; notify management of invoice errors and product shorts according to company policies and procedures.
· Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
· Assist in the training and development of night crew associates when assigned.
· Maintain proper shelf allocations for maximum sales and profit.
· Ensure that sufficient product is ordered to meet anticipated sales and keep out-of-stocks to a minimum.
· Enforce proper product rotation in storage and on display to ensure that customers receive the freshest product available at all times.
· Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining a full variety of all available items that are clearly and correctly priced and signed.
· Educate crew on shrink within their departments and storewide: what it is, how to reduce it, how to control it.
· Set up and maintain and regular cleaning and sanitation schedule.
· Develop and enforce strict packout procedures to minimize loss due to careless and improper handling.
· Support WFC Reclamation Program and Procedures and ensure compliance of night crew.
· Train an assistant to assume your responsibilities in your absence.
· Ensure all prices are accurate; i.e. no discrepancies between shelf and computer.
· Block and level all products in assigned sections in accordance with company policy prior to leaving at the end of the shift.
· Ensure that all dead stock is returned to applicable storage areas.
· Perform other duties and assignments as directed.

Requirements
· Must be thoroughly familiar and willing to comply with all priorities and store policies pertaining to the position, including punctual and reliable attendance.
· Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, etc.
· Must have the ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency.
· Must be knowledgeable in the various types of product carried in the store.
· Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner that meets the minimum standards for productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony and safety.
Physical Requirements
· Must occasionally exert or lift moving pallets, carry cartons of milk, drinking water, and bulk/industrial containers of food products such as rice and frequently exert or lift moderate amounts of weight.
· Must be able to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racks and storage areas.
· Must be able to sweep and mop floors and lift and carry out trash containers to be emptied outside the department.
· Must be able to stock coolers and shelves and endure working under temperature extremes in refrigerated storage areas up to 20 minutes at a time.
· Must have sufficient physical mobility or agility to be able to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies such as cleanup requests due to accidental spills, etc.
· Must be able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents such as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties.
